Hey beauty gurus!

It’s been a while but I’m back to talk about all things liquid lipstick! If you are like me, you are at Sephora and/or Ulta every other week trying to see what new beauty products came out, but somehow, I always end up searching for the perfect liquid lipstick.

 

Let’s be honest, I own WAY too many lipsticks. hundreds of them. All different colors, brands, and finishes. But somehow, I can never have enough of the same purple lipstick. Hi, I am Marisa Vita…and I’m addicted to lipstick. I light up every time I see one of my friends or clients wearing a gorgeous matte lip. I cant help but go on some lipstick rampage and 45 mins later they’re like ok byeeee. I must have tried just about every liquid lipstick on the market. So all in all, the reason I want you all here today is to give you my two cents on THE PERFECT liquid lipstick formulas! I will also give you the deets on what I don’t like about them. Sound good?

Let’s get started.

 

“My lipstick is popping, my lipgloss is cool” is the first song to go on in my head after the perfect lip is applied. First, I am going to start off with Anastasia Beverly Hills. One of my favorite brands EVER. Best highlighters, some of the best contour colors, best brow products hands down, and absolutely beautiful liquid lipstick colors. PROS: The ease of application with these beauties is impeccable. They glide right on and dry super, duper fast. They by far have the prettiest, most on trend colors on the market in my opinion. They are all super wearable for everyday looks (at least for me). CONS: The ONLY thing I do not like about this formula is that as soon as I lick my lips or eat something, the product starts to get really crumby. My skin and lip type is very dry so nothing comes off of me super easy, but this is absolutely the only negative about these lovely lippies. SCORE: 7/10

 

Oh Lime Crime…so many people don’t even know all of the goodness about you! I love so much about you. I adore how much your line is expanding, and the amazing, fun, and crazy colors you release! Lime Crime is such a fun brand that I want to be all up in. This was the very first liquid lipstick color I ever tried and it’s still one of my favorites. PROS: Super long lasting. I work behind the chair for 10 hours a day talking to all of my clients while they get their hair did. My Lime Crime lips never seem to budge. The smell is WAY too good. I get compliments every time I wear shades like “Cashmere” or “Fetish”. I also feel like I can apply several layers of these babies without it looking cakey. CONS: You can’t just go to Sephora or Ulta to get this brand. You have to order online (at least here in Charlotte, NC). Also, buyer beware of a lot of the fake Lime Crime products. There should be a printed rose on top of each cap of the liquid lipstick tubes. If there isn’t a rose right on top, YOU.GOT.DUPED. SCORE: 9/10

 

My sweet Kat Von D…(crying tears of joy)…………..

Oh.MY.GOD. Everything about Kat Von D is just amazing. Since 2017 began, I went on a Kat Von D frenzy. My boyfriend, Kyle was even dragged into this obsession of mine. He asked, “What do you want for Valentine’s Day sweetheart?” As my devious eyes glanced over, I replied, “Kat Von D lipsticks”. So on Valentine’s day, he brought me to Sephora (the key to my heart) and bought me all sorts of Kat Von D everything. I’d say he’s a keeper. ANYWAYSSSS, Kat Von D liquid lipsticks…#amazing #beauitful #perfect. PROS: Can I just say EVERYTHING, for this brand of liquid lipstick? The wand is perfection, the colors are perfection, the formula is perfection. Whether you are preppy, hipster, goth, a natural beauty, a plain jane, or just good ole you, (no judgment on whoever you are), there is a Kat Von D shade for you. Her line brings out your inner and outer beauty no matter who you are. I feel like I can totally express myself on however I am feeling that day with these perfect, fast drying, long lasting lipsticks. I think I’ve said enough. LOL. CONS: I am surprised I have but one complaint about this liquid perfection. The only thing I’d have to say is that they do dry out my lips the tiniest bit. However, like I said, I am already very dry. So someone else very well might not have this problem. SCORE: 10/10

 

Up next, NYX!

“Wow” is what I have to say about this brand. For someone who is trying to ball out in the makeup world on a budget, this is the brand for you! PROS: Definitely super affordable lippies. About 75% cheaper than most of the other popular liquid lipsticks, which is absolutely amazing. They have such gorgeous nude/brown/mauvey shades, hence the name “Lingerie”. There is a color for everyone to look flawless in! CONS: There aren’t enough bright or fun colors in this line. While NYX has other lines of lip products, this is my favorite formula, so I wish there were just a few more colors outside of the box. I also find myself reapplying these shades more than others. I would definitely say that is the thing I dislike the most about this line. I feel like I can only wear these colors on a day off when I have time to reapply. All in all, these lipsticks are less than $10 and I feel like it’s totally worth the splurge. SCORE: 7/10

 

Now on to Tarte! Another one of my favorite brands. I love so many things from this line….except……..these liquid lipsticks. The brand itself is amazing. I love everything they stand for. Amazonian Clay is one of the best foundations ever, the Shape Tape concealer is a must for everyone, and I love ALL of their mascaras. I just can’t seem to fall in love with these liquid lipsticks. PROS: The color selection. The colors are every girl’s dream. They have brights, nudes, naturals, and darks. I also really like the wand for the ease of application. CONS: The pigment is just not there. I have tried several and I just wish these gorgeous colors looked the same on my lips as they do in their packaging. Instead of spending your money on these, spend it on all of the other Tarte products. This is the only thing from them I haven’t liked. I’m sorry Tarte!! You’re still at the top of my favs list. SCORE: 2/10

 

Now that I have talked about my least favorite liquid lipstick, it is officially time to talk about my absolute favorite liquid lipstick EVER!

Drumroll please………………………it’s the Too Faced Melted Matte collection!!!!!!!! WOOO

Can I just please have them all??? WOW is all I have to say. PROS: These ultra hydrating, super smooth, long lasting, gorgeous, absolutely perfect liquid lipsticks are exactly the formula you’ve been looking for. I don’t know what negative to say about it!!! Queen B and some of their newest releases like, “Wine Not” and “Granny Panties” are some of my absolute favorite colors ever. WOW WOW WOW! They freakishly last all day. I can eat, drink, sleep, and dream with these babies on and they don’t budge. This is the longest lasting formula I’ve tired. As the day goes on, I love it more and more. It feels comfortable on my lips and I tell EVERYONE about them. My whole salon knows about “Granny Panties” ha! For the price of $21, it is worth every single cent. CONS: The only thing that I would say is I would love more color choices so I can own a million of them! SCORE: 1,000,000/10

 

Just because I have already talked about my favorite doesn’t mean I don’t love me some M.A.C! I have always loved M.A.C and always will. M.A.C was my very first makeup obsession when I was 18 when all of the girls in my second beauty school got me into it. Sure, I may have looked like a clown for a year…(pics not disclosed) but boy, do I still have my first eye shadow I ever bought from them on display. Makes my heart melt and eyes water “sniff sniff”. I think M.A.C’s Retro Mattes are perfect for going out on the town. They have this thick, voluptuous formula that gives my lips some serious shape. PROS: The colors are WAY pigmented. I honestly don’t even know how they did it. They have great colors to choose from, and a good price point. My Retro Mattes have lasted me the longest time out of all of them. They don’t seem to run out! They also have my favorite application wand of all time. CONS: They have that crumby effect as well, but not as bad as ABH. I would still highly recommend this formula. SCORE: 8/10

Lastly, speaking of M.A.C, I know this isn’t a liquid lipstick, HOWEVER, I highly recommend M.A.C’s matte finish lipsticks. I love them all and own a million of them. They last all day and never dry me out. I also want to post about this just because Heroine from M.A.C, is my favorite regular lipstick ever. I love this lipstick SO much that one day, I lost it. I still to this day never found it (TEARS). The next morning, (not knowing yet that I had lost it) I was in a rush trying to get to work and I could not for the life of me find my perfect lipstick. I needed THIS purple lipstick out of the 100 purple lipsticks I have because Heroine from M.A.C, like I said is perfect. Kyle, (always getting dragged into things) noticed how upset I was. I threw my purse, (must have been that time of the month) and started balling my eyes out. Women cannot help their hormone levels ok? He was such a lad that day as I went off to work, he went to the M.A.C counter and asked the lady for “Heroine” Luckily, she knew what he was talking about and didn’t think he was up to something shady. I came home that night after a better day and saw my perfect lipstick waiting for me. Oh how I love you, Kyle. LONG STORY SHORT, go buy this lipstick. I don’t have a single bad thing to say about it. Maybe just the name? SCORE: 10/10
